Anonymous said: Feminism is most definitely NOT about equality. The clue is in the fucking name. I will stand up for equality until the day I die. But when it comes to feminism I think it's absolutely disgusting and hypocritical. Equality lies right in the middle of masculism and feminism. So you get YOUR facts straight.

Actually, feminism is about the rejection of female oppression from both males and society, hence the name feminism. It relates to many things including females exclusion from art history, the portrayal of women in both art and the media in which they are represented as passive, highly idealised and often nude in order to please the male gaze. Also Feminism is against people like you who claim that ‘Men are out curing diseases’ implying women should be confined to the home and contribute nothing valuable to society. Exactly what is it you find disgusting about feminism? The way they believe everyone should be able to do what they wish with their bodies and their lives? If you actually read some books on Feminism, you’d realise they spend more time critiquing society and the media than they actually do men these days. And yes, most of these things are also run by women as well as men, so they critique both genders and are therefore not one-sided. Feminism is there to balance out ‘masculism’ and therefore achieve equality. What’s so disgusting and hypocritical about that?

Also, you tell me to get my facts straight and yet I wrote multiple essays on this very topic and was awarded 87%, the highest mark anyone has ever achieved at my university. I think I have a pretty good idea what I’m talking about.

Anonymous said: Meanwhile, men are out curing diseases and creating things, you're sitting on an anonymous chat website asking people what they think about female superiority. Is your time really that worthless?

Men AND women are out curing diseases and creating things and if you’d actually taken the time to read my post rather than jumping to conclusions you’d have realised that I was ‘sitting on an anonymous chat website’ in order to inform my CREATION of my artwork for my degree. So I guess yes I am actually one of those people out creating things, so it wasn’t really time wasted was it?

PS Feminism is about equality, not female superiority so get your facts straight before you send out misguided anonymous hate. Is your time really that worthless?

Ha! Just seen this. We were only in Fuel because my boyfriend’s band were playing that night, we wouldn’t go in there otherwise. They do very nice cocktails though!

Brilliant Avon haul in the post today. Thanks Mum!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Omegle, they now have a ‘spy mode’ in which you create a question or statement and you then watch two strangers discuss it. I thought this would be a brilliant chance to do some research for my art practice and gain a contemporary insight into how people view feminism. Obviously this isn’t an extensive or fair representation because I can’t identify the types of people discussing this question (and 27 people disconnected before I could get a full ten responses). However these are the first ten responses, some of which make me so angry I wish I could have responded myself.

This is really useful for the progression of my artwork and so I would really appreciate it if people could take a look and let me know any of their own opinions, views and responses to both Feminism and these images.
